yay first comment. you need some hot chicken soup drink in your cup. or perhaps hot pumpkin soup using the strange appearing pumpkin. guaranteed to make you feel better.
Dude, it’s the California germs that your Nebraskan immune system have no natural resistance to… yet! Don’t worry, they’ll get with the program soon enough.
In the meantime… well, you know.
(hot drink!) 😉
Well a hot cup of coffee may be more successful but an ice cream cone it WAY more fun! Maybe thats why I’m emotionally dead.
So in theory, you could approximate holding a warm drink and sitting on a warm car seat at the same time just by sitting on your hands.
Well, I have been trying this for some time now, on the bus, at restaurants, theaters and business meetings, and I have not made any new friends. Au contraire.
Oh your so right about the hot drinks… I can’t start my day without tea and going to a friends house who offers me tea is so much more welcoming then going to the friends house who doesn’t. So, I’ve been serving hot tea to my guests for a while now.
Long time viewer, first time commenter.
Having just moved out to northern California from ever-cloudy Florida, I too was surprised at how blue and clear the sky is here, and how often. Seriously, the only time I recall the sky being devoid of any clouds in Florida was the next day after a hurricane blew by.
Brigitte, I don’t want to alarm you, but there was a pumpkin sneaking up on you. Your ears must be plugged from your illness, otherwise I would think you would have heard it’s foot steps.
Did you decide on a name for your lizard?
Have a nice day Brigitte…:)
Makes me think of a favorite Beatles song. Should I go to a j-o-b interview with a hot drink and or offer the interviewer a hot drink? (yeah, Im a slack perp). It doesn’t seem unprofessional to me, unless I make mine irish, or his/hers irish, and if the hot drink was tea! ack! Hope you feel better Brigitte. Peace within and without erbody.
Brad’s comment about chicken soup was just a joke, just a joke, though in terribly poor taste. Don’t give it a second’s thought, Ma’am. Have some hot mash and lay an egg; your Mom says you’ll feel much better.
in england, everything is made better with a cup of tea. “i’ll put the kettle on” is a frequent phrase. now i understand the psychology behind it. hope you feel better.
Ahh . . . a Brigitte Dale Video is like a smile . . .
(Or a warm drink !)
The Budweiser Lizards were named ‘Frank’ and ‘Louie’ . . . I’m Not sure, but, yours seems to look like ‘Louie’ to me . . .
i have to tell you the truth, ever since i was a kid, hot drinks made my stomach hurt. i like to drink hot tea when it’s cold, and when i’m sick, but it still makes my stomach hurt.
i guess i enjoy holding a warm mug, or cup. i’ll have to think about it next time.
I mostly just come here now to see if yusufyusuf85 tells Brigitte to “have a nice day, peaCe!”
The video is just a (warm?) bonus.
You know how people will type LOL to you when you’ve said something funny? Do you ever wonder if they really LOL’d or if they are just patronizing you? (Kind of like a text version of air quotes. Air quotes are always patronizing… don’t you think? I have said many times lately that air quotes and eye rolls are below the dignity Americans should be given. Are you listening John McCain? My friend. Patronizing.)
Wow, that was a really long parenthetical break. Sorry. I was talking about LOLs. ’cause you made me. It’s 3am and your aside about suggestive ice cream cone eating made me laugh loudly. It woke up my dog. I think she rolled her eyes at me. Darn condescending mutt!
Feel better soon!
Doing almost anything IS better with a warm cup of joe. There are a few exceptions though – Taking a shower, skydiving (alone or in a group), trying to frag friends in a frenzied game of UrbanTerror (http://www.urbanterror.net), and doing sign language are all examples of bad doing-whilst-drinking-joe-things. These events notwithstanding, a warm beverage does do a lot to calm and relax us, indeed!
Hope you’re feeling better.
Dateline Halloween 2008 – – 85 Days since the Great Ankle Injury. The day before yesterday, I got poked twice to give blood once (I hate it when they have to poke twice… especially when they hunt!) The good news: I got an official American Red Cross Blood Donor Coffee Mug out of the deal.
One pint of blood can save up to three lives!
Go on, be a hero three times!
Pain is temporary; another chance lasts a lifetime.
…by the way… still no sympathetic word from the lady who allegedly has warm feelings. I’ve now graduated from my wheelchair to a cane, and no longer am in a cast or Das Boot. (Well, I AM in HIKING boots…)
Hello, I too get assailed by the annual sore throught . I have learned that hot spices mixed in ones favorite beverage soothes sore throught pain. It doesn’t cure but ironicaly soothes it.
Also one of my teachers, who’s big on chinese medicine, says that the chinese traditionally drink warm beverages as well. Even luke warm water since the human body functions at 98.6 an iced beverage would slow down digestion.
Get well soon Brigitte Dale.
Being english I would say that everything is better with tea. Got a problem, maul it over over tea. Feeling cold…tea!! Need to plan world domination… extra big cup of tea (known as a cuppa cha, a brew or cockney rhyming slang Rosey lea), asking a girl in… coffee 🙁 ok thats why i dont do that doh, tea is good for all else though 🙂
Commenting usually isnt my thing, but ive spent an hour on the site, so thanks for the info
