Voting for the SAM-e Good Mood Gig is now closed, and when polls closed I finished in first place with 62, 466 votes! You can see the final vote tally for all 20 finalists here.
Wow. Thank you so much. Over the last 20 days I was amazed over and over at how wonderful and supportive you are. I saw people tweeting the link, posting it on Facebook, making YouTube videos about it. I started reading your blogs and following you closer and then became even more flattered that you were supporting me when I found out more about about you. I’ve said this before but it is true: I’m blown away by the interesting, smart, creative group of people that keep up with my blog. I picture you all in a big room and you seem to be the best kind of people. In fact I wish we could all be in a big room room together right now, I want to throw you a party.
As wonderful as that voting result was I want to remind everybody that this contest is not decided on voting alone: There’s also a panel of judges who will score our video and essay entries. They combine their scores with the voting results to choose the winner.
When will the announcement of the winner be made? I have no idea. From the official rules it looks like it could be anytime between today and the end of the year. But I’m hoping we will all find out soon!
…Unfortunately, I would prefer the cupcake, …but I would let you have it, …With a candle.

You are such a natural for this type of job. Though,i feel you never look upon blogging or vlogging as work. Should there be a You Tube gathering next year in LA,we could all meet then. And go to a pastry store,where you could tell us the ins and outs of cupcakes!

I was admiring your snowman marshmallow and wondering if he was a special only in L.A. homemade marshmallow. Then I went to Walgreens today and — tada — it’s a Peeps. I love Peeps. I’m so happy I found this marshmallow it made my day. They also have a green Christmas tree Peeps. Oh boy. Then I bought 15 pairs of socks so I won’t have to wash my socks again for . . . hmmm, a while. Oops, maybe too much information?

You want to throw us a party? We should throw YOU a party! Even if you don’t get selected (which is crazy) finishing with the most votes is still monumental. And I’ve been in enough competitions to know. (We were in the lead for votes in the Doritos competition last year all the way up until 3 days before the big game.)
Anyway… we should all celebrate.
Dear Brigitte: I wrote a comment a few days ago. I’ve just re-read it and I’m cringing. I meant to sound cute and supportive and re-reading it today — hmmm, I just sound weird. This kind of communication is weird and odd. You don’t know me at all. I only know you through your video blogs — which I’ve enjoyed immensely.
But . . . well, emmm, trying to write to someone who doesn’t know you and sound sane and intelligent and witty is somehow daunting. Maybe it’s just me?
