Hey! Seems like I’ve had a lot of news lately – I have something else big to share with you!
I’m writing and directing AND starring in a project for MTVx!!! I’ve got say to I’m pretty proud of this thing and the way it tells a story : ) I can’t say details yet but I’m so excited to show you soon. The name of the series is going to be “Status Updates.”
Anyway, now that I can share this news, I’m excited to also be able to tell you a bit about the process of making the show with MTV along the way. We’re prepping to shoot right now, so at the moment my life consists of going on location scouts, overseeing casting calls, addressing script notes and getting eyelash extensions. It’s a very weird and mostly wonderful mix of activities, ha.
I’m loving it, and I feel very fancy as the director of a full professional cast and crew on the project.
This is going to be something different than most of what you’ve seen from me online-
I will always love video blogging but haven’t gotten to show you a lot of this other thing I love – writing longer form stories, writing for characters, and directing.
(And this is not the same project as the Sundance film and social media story event – that one is called Follow Back and is in the works as well.)
Let me know if there’s anything in particular I can share with you along the way that would be interesting. And thanks so much for always being so supportive even when I seem to disappear for a while because I’m working on something big!

I’m so excited to tell you that I have been chosen to participate in Sundance Film Institute’s New Frontier Story Lab with my project Follow Back. It’s a film project intertwined with social media storytelling.
Follow Back is a story I created, and I’ll also direct and star in it. I’m working with (super-talented) Robbie Wilkins to bring the story to life, and I wrote the screenplay with (brilliant) Nar Williams. Super-coder Rudy Jahchan is doing super-coding and other magical technical creative things.
This is huge. I’m so excited. Details to follow. Here’s a link with more information on the Sundance lab and my project!

“.. almost everything – all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” – Steve Jobs, 1955-2011
