Easy Healthy Pumpkin Froyo

Yogurt, pumpkin, and banana. Did you know these three healthy things combine to create a very healthy frozen treat that tastes anything BUT healthy? It’s like eating pumpkin pie with ice cream. Or it’s like your inner child is jumping in leaf piles and making scarecrows in your mouth. Yum! You and your toddler can even eat it together without you having that guilty “I just gave my baby a load of sugar and it’s now my fault that they’re crabbypants” feeling afterwards.

pumpkinfrpypPumpkin Banana Frozen Yogurt:

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium bananas
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt (for best results do not use fat-free, which results in more of a shaved-ice consistency instead of soft frozen yogurt)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Pour into popsicle molds or any other freezeable container, and freeze for several hours. Top it with honey & sprinkles like I did if you’re feeling especially fancy.

Does this work with any flavoring or does it have to be this mixture to work?

There are a lot of variations of this that will work! The key elements are the yogurt (full fat gives the softest final product) and then any kind of ruit/veggie combo usually works well blended in. Banana gives a nice thick consistency plus adds natural sweetness, but if you’d rather not do banana you can add sugar or a natural sweetener instead.
